Lesley Saddington

"I am very interested in the spiritual and mythological woman.  My work is influenced by the strong women that feature in Greek mythology and the spiritual side which is reflected by the angels I paint about.  I like to use symbolism in my paintings to tell a story.  I am interested in images from nature and from childhood which have a deeper meaning when I arrange them in my paintings.  I am influenced by medieval paintings, naïve art and South American art."

Lesley studied at Croydon College of Art, then Liverpool Polytechnic were she gained a BA in Textiles, and also at St Martin's School of Art where she gained a postgraduate diploma in Illustration.  As an illustrator her clients have included The Royal Shakespeare Company, BBC, Radio Times, Geffen Records, J Walter Thompson, Action Aid, Oxfam, Waitrose, Avis, Oxford University Press.
