Peter Harrap

Peter Harrap studied at Camberwell College of Art, Winchester School of Art and Prince of Wales Drawing Studio.  In 2004 he was elected a Royal Academy Schools graduate for his role as director of Young RA.  He has exhibited at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, Leighton House and The Arts House as well as receiving prizes for his work.

"Peter Harrap works from a solid base of drawing and then makes paintings from these drawings.  The object of the exercise is not to produce pictorial verisimilitude but rather through the subjects he chooses to paint to create a visual poetry of memory.  In the British School he belongs to that line of twentieth century artists which includes Spencer, Freud and Lessore."

His work is in the private collections of Michel Roux and the CEO's of HSBC and Laurent-Perrier.  He has been called a "great British hope" by John Russell Taylor in the Times.
