This handsome studio easel was found broken and discarded on the street outside Lucian Freud's house.  It has been lovingly restored and given a new home by The Rowley Gallery.  This treasured relic is employed to display many of the frames recorded on these pages, serving as a kind of standard measure, and occasionally playing host to a painting in our window.

It is now almost fully rehabilitated and enjoying a new lease of life.  It creaks only slightly whenever Mr Freud walks by.  We suspect it may secretly harbour the forlorn hope that perhaps one day it will be reunited in our window with a painting by its old master.
